632-first class reaction

As the second week of class came to an end, I felt that there was a change in the definitions of important terms that I learned in my previous IDDE classes. Changes that help make those terms more detailed and more usable in a more specific content. Terms like input, process, output etc. now had examples to go with it. I was able to think of those terms in light of tangible ideas, such as: process described via IDDE as class or input described as departments (school of ed).
We spent a good amount of time discussing systems, supra and sub systems. I looked at those words and what they mean. I first struggled with how I was looking at systems with regards to IDDE, after class I was able to classify certain entities that helped me look at systems in a way that an instructional designer might. For instance, system= Syracuse football, suprasystem = NCAA and subsystems = athletic and academic support teams.
I also see more clearly the notion of IDDE when words such as architect, contractor and inspector are used. To me, they clearly define the possible functions of an instructional designer within the terms design, development and evaluation.
